Regarding price, I was lucky and got two pro licenses years ago when they came in pairs but I just looked at the pricing page.they have a 30 day free trial and the starting price for a license is only $60. With most normal arrays, you would lose it all. the remainder of the data on the array can be easily copied off. Another nice feature is that if you did lose more drives than you have parity drives, you only lose the data on those dead drives. It allows you to add new data drives as long as they are smaller than your parity drive(s). Assuming you’re storing movie/tv/iso files it’s really an ideal solution. Now, my main question is, are there any solutions I'm unaware of or overlooking? Can SnapRAID fulfill enough functionality that I can use Arch as a NAS and just drop in drives at any time, or is there some free program or OS that can do this?
